Aftercare & Alumni Program in Laguna Beach, CA

Where Recovery Becomes Community

Healing doesn’t end when you leave residential treatment. It expands.

At Crystal Cove Recovery, the Aftercare & Alumni Program is where the work you’ve done becomes a life you can keep. Recovery isn’t about going back to who you were. It’s about growing into who you’re becoming, and no one should walk that path alone.

Our aftercare and alumni community, supported through our partnership with Doghouse Recovery, offers connection, accountability, and a steady sense of belonging long after treatment ends. Here, fellowship becomes a foundation. Structure becomes support. And sobriety becomes a shared journey.

A strong recovery needs a strong community, and that’s what we build together.

A Continuum That Carries You Forward

Your time at Crystal Cove builds clarity. Your time after Crystal Cove builds consistency.

Our Aftercare & Alumni Program was designed to help you:

  • Stay connected to peers who understand your experience
  • Build confidence navigating early recovery
  • Strengthen coping skills learned in treatment
  • Maintain accountability within a compassionate community
  • Create a life that feels meaningful, stable, and sober

Whether you’re local to Southern California or traveling from out of state, the Crystal Cove community stays with you.

Weekly Alumni Connection

Consistency builds confidence. Our weekly programming offers steady touchpoints that keep you grounded and supported.

Tuesday Night Alumni Panel

Every Tuesday, four alumni return to Crystal Cove Recovery to share their experience, strength, and hope. Clients hear real stories of early sobriety, transition, setbacks, growth, and resilience. It’s a space for honesty and proof that recovery is real.

Thursday Night Speaker Meeting

Each Thursday, one member of our alumni community speaks for about 15 minutes, followed by an open-format Q&A. These gatherings create connection across generations of recovery and a reminder that none of us do this alone.

Monthly and Quarterly Alumni Events

Sobriety should include joy, friendship, and experiences that reconnect you to life. We host a variety of events designed to build community and create new memories.

Monthly Alumni BBQ at Doghouse Recovery

Once a month, we gather at the Doghouse Recovery sober living homes for food, connection, and fellowship. Good music, shared stories, and a supportive environment turn these Friday nights into a celebration of progress.

Quarterly Spiritual Retreats

Every quarter, we take a group of alumni on a spiritual retreat to Palm Springs, Big Bear, or the beach. These retreats include:

  • AA-based workshops
  • Group meals and outdoor activities
  • Meditation and reflection
  • Fellowship and bonding
  • Time to reconnect with yourself and each other

Your environment can change your perspective, and these retreats help you rediscover stillness, strength, and direction.

Community Events

We participate in local sober community events across Orange County, including chili cookoffs and recovery-focused gatherings. These shared experiences help you stay connected to your recovery network in fun and meaningful ways.

Giving Back Through Service

Service is a cornerstone of long-term recovery, and our alumni program keeps that tradition strong.

Saddleback Valley Fellowship Club Volunteering

Our alumni regularly volunteer at the Saddleback Valley Fellowship Club during holidays and community events. Giving back to others strengthens gratitude and keeps recovery grounded in purpose.

Outreach at Charlie Street

We also participate in outreach and volunteer work at Charlie Street, supporting individuals and communities impacted by addiction. This outreach allows alumni to transform their experiences into hope for others.

A Recovery Community That Lasts

The goal of aftercare is simple: help you build a life that sobriety fits into, and feels good in.

With Crystal Cove Recovery, you don’t graduate and walk away. You join a community that stays with you through:

  • Weekly meetings
  • Monthly gatherings
  • Quarterly retreats
  • Volunteer opportunities
  • Sober living support
  • Lifelong alumni connections

The ocean teaches us something profound: the waves continue, even after they break. Your recovery does too.
